  • José Luis Muñoz

    José Luis Muñoz (born Salamanca, 1951), traveller, columnist, literary and film critic and cultural activist, is a key figure in Spanish crime writing. He attends literary festivals across Spain and France and is the author of almost fifty published books, both novels and short story collections, for which he has been recognized with prizes including the Tigre Juan, Azorín, La Sonrisa Vertical, Café Gijón, Francisco García Pavón, Camilo José Cela, Ignacio Aldecoa and Bruma Negra over the course of his career.

    José Luis Olaizola practised as a lawyer for 15 years. His extensive literary career has won him numerous awards, such as the Ateneo de Sevilla and Planeta prizes in 1983 for his novel 'La guerra del general Escobar', considered 'the best novel about the Spanish Civil War.' In 1982 he won the Barco de Vapor prize for his novel 'Cucho', which in its French translation won the Grand Prix de l'Académie des Lectuers de Paris. In 1992 he was awarded the Prix Littéraire de Bourran for his novel 'El cazador urbano.'

    José Luis Pardo is Professor of Philosophy at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. He has worked on journalistic publications such as El Viejo Topo, Los Cuadernos del Norte, Revista de Occidente, Archipiélago, Claves de Razón Práctica, and the newspaper El País. He translates authors of contemporary philosophy into Spanish, such as F. Jameson, G. Debord, M. Serres, E. Levinas, G. Agamben or G. Deleuze; he is coauthor and coordinator of the volume Prefería no hacerlo. Ensayos sobre Bartleby (Pre-Textos, Valencia, 2000), and of Palabras Cruzadas.
