After some years without seeing her family, a woman travels to the United States to visit them: her brother, who is married to an American, and her mother. During the 18 days she spends with them, she tries to reconstruct the past and history. To do so, she uses memory and recollections (always tricky), but also an attempt - previously failed - to put some of that history into words. A confused history that escapes from itself and the possibility of being spoken of, and in this escape lies the foreignness of her version. It is the search to be able to speak of an original wound, yet also the certainty that she is alone in that attempt and that history repeats itself, plagiarizes itself, duplicates itself or multiplies itself. It is impossible to say: a kind of betrayal of the mother tongue.
