Readers will not find a linear narrative in these pages, for the plot is established by way of successive glimpses, which, led by the actions of the protagonists, exposes a series of deplorable human and social events, yet which are so authentic that anyone could identify them. Using techniques such as the discovery of a diary, or polyphony, the author gives us an intimate glimpse into the characters' lives and, seeing them affected by the story, also show us what is happening around them, which often turns out to be merely a miasma, it's true, but is in fact our very own surroundings...
