In the evolution of Homo Sapiens, there are certain markers which indicate structural changes and qualitative leaps. One of these is the appearance and development of Art as the most obvious manifestation of the capacity of our species for conceptualisation and abstract thought. It is not clear if what we call prehistoric art belongs exclusively to our species, not even if it can be defined as Art iin term's of that terms meaning in Art theory, but it cannot be denied that 35,000 years ago hunter-gatherer societies discovered a means of expression laden with symbolism and beauty. And since its beginnings, this art manifested itself in the two possible forms: realism and abstraction.
