JOAN BESTARD COMAS

JOAN BESTARD COMAS (born 1940) is a priest, and was an Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of Mallorca from 1974 to 1980, an executive in the Secretariado Nacional de la Comisión Episcopal de Pastoral from 1980-1986, a general priest  from 1986 to 1999, and a Catedral Dean from 1998 to 2004. He has qualifications in Theology and a doctorate in Social Sciences from the Gregorian University of Rome, as well as qualifications in PoOlitical Science and Sociology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is currently a canon, a Diocese Pastoral delegate and Profesor of Sociology and Church Social Doctrine at the Centro de Estudios Teológicos and the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Religiosas in Mallorca. He is the author of numerous sociological and pastoral articles and works.
