David Trueba

Autor David Trueba

David Trueba (Madrid, 1969) studied journalism and soon began working for the press and in radio, cinema and television. His first film mas a director was 'La buena vida' ('The Good Life'), which was followed by 'Obra Maestra' ('Masterpiece'), 'Soldados de Salamina' ('The Soldiers of Salamina'), 'Bienvenido a casa' ('Welcome Home', which won the prize for best director at the Festival de Málaga), 'La Sila de Fernando' ('Fernando's Chair', a documentary about Fernando Fernán-Gómez), 'Madrid, 1987', 'Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados' ('Living is Easy When Your Eyes Are Shut', which won six Goya awards) and 'Casi 40' ('Almost 40'). His novels include 'Abierto toda la noche' ('Open All Night', 1995), 'Cuatro Amigos' ('Four Friends', 1999, a long-seller which has had more than twenty editions to date), 'Saber Perder' ('Knowing How to Lose', 2008, which won the Premio Nacional de la Crítica for best novel, was named novel of the year by El Mundo's El Cultural supplement and whose French edition was shortlisted for the prestigious Prix Médicis), 'Blitz' (2015) and 'Tierra de campos' ('Land of Fields', 2017).
