Pilar Rahola

Pilar Rahola (Barcelona, 1958) is a political analyst for La Vanguardia and the radio programs El món a RAC1 and 8 al dia with Josep Cuní. As well as publishing books of essays, she made her debut as a novelist with 'La calle del Embudo' (2013) and had great success with 'Mariona' (2014), one of the best-selling books of recent years. Rahola won the Spanish Association of Press, Radio and Television Professionals' Best Columnist award in 2007. She also won the 2010 Premio Atlántida, awarded by Catalan publishers, and was awarded the 2011 Morris B. Abram Human Rights Award by UN Watch in Geneva for her defence of women in Islam and her global fight for human rights.
