The White Shadow
Carlos Fidalgo (Bembibre, León) won the fifth Premio Tristana de Literatura Fantástica with the novel 'El agujero de Helmand' ('The Hole of Helmand') (Menoscuarto 2011), a circular story set during the Afghan war. He is the author of the story collections 'El país de las nieblas' ('The Country of Mists') (2005) and 'Tierra adentro y otros cuentos de naufragios' (Dry Land And Other Tales of Shipwrecks') (2013). His stories have featured in 'Antología de Escritores Bercianos. Narrativa Breve' ('Antology of Writers From El Bierzo. Short Stories') (2006), in the collection of short fantasy stories 'Piedad y Deseo, otros hijos de la misma noche ('Piety and Desire, Other Children of the Same Night')(2013) published by the Hijos de Mary Shelley project, and in the University of Guadalajara's Luvina magazine. A journalist for the Diario de León, he writes a column published on Thursday entitled Cuarto Creciente. 'La sombre blanca' ('The White Shadow') is his second novel.
