Industrial engineer and professor at the UPC since 1971. In 1972 he was an engineer at Seat. From 1979 to 1983 he was mayor of Sant Joan Despí, and from 1980 to 1983, vice president of the Municipal Council of Barcelona. From 1999 he has headed the Centro de Diseño de Equipos Industriales at the Univerisdad Politécnica de Cataluña (CDEI-UPC), which forms part of the TECNIO network of Catalonia’s regional government. In 2006 he set up the business foundation CEQUIP, aimed at innovation in capital goods. In 1995 he assumed the presidency of the Centro de Estudios Comarcales in Bajo Llobregat (Catalonia) and, some years later, the vice-presidency of the Coordinadora de Centros de Estudios de Habla Catalana, roles he still performs.
