Sonia Ruiz, who was born in Granada, has lived in Switzerland, France and England. A writer brimming with imagination, she has created a character with a legion of followers in Spain. She appeared for the first time in Daniela. Que he hecho yo para merecer esta familia? (Daniela. What Have I Done To Deserve This Family?, Maghenta, 2008) and went on to win fame in Daniela en cuarto menguante (Daniela, waning, Arcopress, 2009). A multitude of readers have found Daniela’s amusing trials and adventures hilarious and they are now to be made into a television series, to appear shortly.

The author was educated at the renowned Father Flanagan’s Boys’ Home in Boys Town, Nebraska, and graduated in Anthropology from Kansas State University.
